Are you afraid of the dark?

This week Mylee and Cody have been playing musical beds. We would like to move Mylee into Jaden's room in the bunk beds and let Cody have his own room. Girls share so the boy gets his own room!! Normally you would think that would be exciting for him. He gets a QUEEN bed all to himself!!!! And a normal dresser for his clothes (instead of cheap wire drawers inside the closet). We could paint his room and decorate it with boy things. This week has been our "trial" week before we move all his stuff over. Well, he is a little hesitant about this idea. At first he kept asking me when he gets his own room, and was so excited about it. But when it comes down to it, he really doesn't like to be alone. During the day he sticks close to me. He won't go to a different level of the house if I'm not there. If I leave a room, he follows me to see what I am doing. This is going to be a change for him, and I don't want it to be a negative thing for him but Jaden and Cody are getting too old to share rooms. They always fight at night when it comes time to change into their PJ's because they don't want the other person to see them change. Last night Jeff talked to Cody about sleeping in his own bedroom. He sensed Cody was a little bit scared of the dark. We bought all the kids these "glow ghosts" from Ikea a while ago that charge during the day and are totally portable so they can sleep with them right beside them at night. But that wasn't good enough. This is how we got Cody to sleep in his own room last night.....

Our next challenge is to get Mylee to go to sleep without talking to herself and opera singing herself to sleep...which keeps Jaden up!!!

******WARNING*****

(Don't scroll down any further if you get queazy at blood and gross injuries)

For those that read my blog regularly...do you remember last year for Jeff's birthday he got stitches in his forehead from the scope on his gun? This year for his birthday, he was playing basketball and got elbowed in the lip. His tooth cut right through his lip. All he could feel on the inside of his mouth was his lip so he thought he lost a tooth or two. Mike French (an orthodontist on his team) looked and noticed that his lip was hooked on his tooth and wedged in between his teeth (like floss). He pulled his lip out and played some more basketball when the bleeding slowed down. So he called a friend who is a plastic surgeon and he got in to get stitches the next day. Because healing had already begun, they had to re-open the wound, and cut away at some skin to make a straighter cut to sew together. So this picture is courtesy of Dr. Dawes who stitched him up. He had some muscle tear so he had to stitch his muscles on the inside, and then had 3 stitches on the inside of his lip and 6 on the outside. I hope that he doesn't keep up this trend of getting stitches on or near his birthday! (Or even on a yearly basis). That just so happens to be around when we get family pictures taken! It has healed up nicely and I'm glad he had a plastic surgeon stitch him up and not an ER doctor.

Okay, the headlamp picture...HILARIOUS! I love it! I would like to hear Mylee sing herself to sleep...opera...sounds entertaining! And yikes Jeff, that is scary. Good pic though! Dave says he wishes he had a plastic surgeon stitch his face up...ER doc just not the same! Hope it heals well!

Your house sounds a lot like our house. Justin will absolutely not go anywhere in the house alone. He usually convinces Ethan to come with him. When we moved Ethan into the room with Tanner and Justin, he was constantly keeping them up with his jabbering. He has finally out grown it though. I love the pic of Cody...whatever works, right?! :)
Sorry to hear about Jeff. I wonder how he is going to outdo this birthday next year. ;)
