Prayers for Lily

As many of you probably already know, my brother Justin and his wife Leah just had a beautiful baby girl on August 12th...Lily Marie. She was born with heart complications which they knew about before she was born. She is in the NICU on only a few medications and they are monitoring her blood pressure and oxygen levels. She is otherwise stable and doing pretty good considering.
Lily has to have open heart surgery 3 different times at different stages of her life. She had to be born up in Edmonton because the Stollery Children's Hospital is best in Western Canada for cardiology. I had the chance to go up last Tuesday with my mom and dad to see sweet baby Lily (Mylee tagged along too...the other two kids stayed at a friends house). Lily is sooooo cute!
Prayers are appreciated for Justin, Leah and Lily. Her first surgery is sometime this week. It is amazing the things that these gifted surgeons are able to do on a heart the size of a strawberry and little tiny veins. It breaks my heart to think about what this poor little baby is going to have to go through.

If you want to learn more about what is wrong with her heart and the procedures she has to undergo, go to Justin and Leah's blog.

On another note...Justin and Leah have been living at the Ronald McDonald House in Edmonton since the middle of July. This place is AMAZING. I believe it is newly renovated and is VERY nice. Beautiful kitchens and rooms. They have so many fun things to do there. To name a few things...here's Justin and Mylee playing hopscotch.
In the basement they have a games/arcade room. Fun for ALL ages! (Mylee and Grandpa playing whack-a-shark).
In the backyard they have a beautiful 2 storey playhouse fully furnished, and a playground. They have a weight/exercise room, different TV rooms with Xbox's, Nintendo's and Lazy-Boy's. They have crafts organized for the kids...Mylee decorated this cowgirl hat because that day they had lunch brought in and had a country singer come perform.
As nice as the Ronald McDonald house is, hopefully after Lily's surgery they can be transferred to the Alberta Children's Hospital in Calgary for her recovery period so that Justin and Leah can come home. We love and miss them so much and can't wait to have more snuggles with Lily!
